1 Bookings

1.1 – Customers (from now on the customer) can request bookings via our website, online travel agencies (OTA´s), authorized travel agent, or by contacting our staff at the Hostel.

1.2 – When requesting bookings, customers will be required to provide identification information including, but not limited to, their name, address, contact telephone number and email address.

1.3 – No request for a booking should be deemed to be accepted unless and until 2060 The Newton Hostel (from now on the Hostel) confirms its acceptance and provides a booking reference, at which point the contract will come into existence.

1.4 – Subject to clause 4 below, the Hostel will use its reasonable endeavors to accommodate any request from the customer to change the booking details, but any request to change the dates or length of stay or add products and/or services will be subject to availability and the Customer paying for such increased length of stay and/or products and/or services at the Hostel standard rates from time to time.

1.5 – When booking beds in a shared room, the Hostel will attempt to put people on the same booking in the same room, however this cannot be guaranteed.

1.6 – Bookings will be accepted for up to 12 guests. In case your party consists of a larger group, please fill in the form for group bookings, or email us at groups@2060hostels.com, and we will send a quotation within 48hrs. Group booking T&C conditions differ from these individual T&C.

2 Fees and payment

2.1 – The Charges will be as quoted by the Hostel to the Customer upon the Customer’s request for a booking.

2.2 – Unless otherwise agreed by the Hostel, the charges only cover the provision of accommodation at the Hostel and the Customer may incur additional charges.

2.3 – Unless clearly stated in our website(s), social media, in-house signs and/or other methods, customers will be informed of the amount of the additional charges before they are incurred.

2.4 – Bookings will be subject to the Customer: making payment of the charges in full in advance or, at the Hostel option, paying a booking fee and/or deposit; and providing valid credit card details via which payment of the charges or the balance of the charges (as the case may be) and any additional charges can be taken at check in at the hostel or at the time of booking.

2.5 – If not prepaid in full at time of booking, the balance of the charges must be paid by the Customer immediately on checking in at the Hostel. Any additional charges must be paid either as they are incurred or, at the Hostel option, upon the Customer checking out from the Hostel.

2.6 – The following payment methods are accepted by the Hostel: credit Cards Visa, Mastercard on our website; also debit cards or cash at front desk, as long as there is a confirmed booking.

2.7 – For flexible bookings (free cancellation) above 300€ and/or 7 nights Hostel may require pre-authorization from the Customer´s card. Failure to pre-authorize will incur in booking cancellation.

3 Cancellations

3.1 – Subject to clause 3.2, the customer may cancel the booking without charge provided written notice is given to info@2060hostels.com at least 2 days prior to arrival date.

3.2 – Where the Customer has been offered and selected a discounted rate on condition that the booking may not be cancelled then, provided the Customer has been informed and accepted such condition (including, without limitation non-refundable rates, promotional rates), then the booking may not be cancelled (or dates modified) and the charges applicable to that booking are payable in full.

3.3 – Where the Customer fails to give sufficient notice of cancellation as per clause 3.1 or fails to arrive (no show) at the Hostel, the booking will be deemed cancelled and the Customer must pay the Hostel an amount equivalent to the charges applicable to the total amount booked for the first’ night’s stay.

3.4 – The Hostel may at any time cancel a booking if the Hostel becomes unavailable due to circumstances outside the Hostel control in which case the Hostel will pay the customer a full refund of any charges and any booking fee paid, if that is the case, subject to clause 7.3, in which case, if possible, the Hostel will offer a (transferable) voucher to use later on, limited to check in the next 6 months following the original booking.

3.5 – The Hostel may at any time cancel the booking if the payment details provided by the Customer are invalid and the customer fails to provide alternative valid details.

4 Check in and Check out

4.1 – Check-in time at the Hostel is at 3pm. Early check-in (before to 3pm.) may be available subject to prior arrangement with the hostel, with an additional charge and subject to availability and the full range of services and facilities at the Hostel not being available until the standard check in time.

4.2 – Check-out time at the Hostel booked is 11am. Later check-out times may be possible by prior arrangement with an additional charge and subject to availability. In the absence of such prior arrangement, failure to check-out by 11am. may result in the Customer being charged for an additional night’s accommodation at the standard applicable rate.

4.3 – We offer free luggage room storage for early check ins and late check outs. Additional charges may apply.

4.4 – We offer parking for our guests subject to availability and prior booking for an additional charge that will be informed on request by the Customer. The parking has CCTV and automatic doors. Please note that due to our central location parking is adecuate only for small/medium cars, restrictions may apply, and fines may be enforced. Under no circumstance will the Hostel be responsible of such fines or damages. More info available here.

5 Hostel Rules
5.1 – This rules apply to individual customers, and their party. For group bookings (more than 12 guests), additional rules will apply, stated in the particular T&C provided at booking confirmation and the signed contract.

5.2 – A valid photo identification in the form of a ID is required at check-in; passport will be required for non-EU residents. Failure to comply with these requirements might incur in admission denial, subject to the Hostel criteria.

5.3 – Customers are required to conduct themselves and ensure that their guests conduct themselves in a reasonable and responsible manner at the Hostel and must not act in any way which may disturb other guests, and staff. Failure to adhere to this requirement may result in guests being asked to leave the Hostel in which event all charges and additional charges shall become immediately payable by the guest.

5.4 – Smoking, of any kind, and the use or consumption of illegal substances is not permitted inside the Hostel.

5.5 – The Customer will be responsible for any loss or damage caused at the Hostel by guests or visitor of the guest. The guest may be liable for the Hostel reasonable cost of repairing, cleaning or replacing any property of the Hostel which is damaged, soiled or lost by a guest.

5.6 – The Hostel does not accept bookings made by those under the age of 18. Under 18’s cannot stay in any shared rooms, however they can stay in private rooms when accompanied by an adult over 18 years. If you’re under 18 and want to stay in a private room, you’ll need written consent from your parent or guardian. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in automatic cancellation with no refund given. No animals are allowed in the Hostel with the exception of guide dogs.

5.7 – The Hostel provides each client with an individual locker free of charge in the room that is secured with a padlock. If the client does not bring a lock, the hostel offers the possibility of buying one at reception. The hostel will be responsible, up to the limit of civil liability recognized by the insurance contracted by the hostel and the part that is not covered by the insurance that the client may have, on those objects that, having been secured in the locker with a padlock, are stolen through violence and /or force. In no case will the hostel be responsible for those objects that have not been insured at the locker that the Hostel makes available to the client, free of charge. Under no circumstance will the Hostel be held responsible for valuables not secure with a padlock in a locker.

5.8. – The common areas can be closed at the discretion of the hostel between 11pm and 8am the next day in case clients do not comply with the basic rules of coexistence and the stipulated quiet hours. Common areas can also be closed for private events with due notice ahead.

5.9. – During quiet hours (11pm, 8am the next day), no Customer may be on the street in front of the building’s door in order to safeguard the rest of the neighbors.

5.10 – The Hostel reserves the right of admission, and does not tolerate any type of discriminatory and/or aggressive attitude towards workers or other clients. The person or persons who have aggressive, discriminatory and/or violent attitudes may be expelled immediately, without the right to reimbursement.

6 Food and Drink

6.1 – Unless otherwise agreed by the Hostel, the charges do not include any food or drink.

6.2 – Customers and their guests may only consume drink purchased from us in the hostel. No externally purchase beverages (alcoholic or non) may be consumed inside the Hostel.

6.3 – In accordance with the hygiene and safety policies in force in the community of Madrid for this type of establishment, the consumption of food and/or drinks inside the rooms is prohibited. The cleaning staff and/or any hostel worker will be able to remove any food/drink that is in sight and outside the locker in the rooms. The hostel provides spaces dedicated to the storage of food and drink, at no cost to the client in the common areas intended for eating and drinking.

7 General

7.1 – The Customer’s rights as a consumer under consumer protection legislation from time to time in force shall not be affected by these conditions.

7.2 – The Hostel may transfer its rights and obligations under the contract to another organization but will always inform the customer if this happens and this will not affect the customer’s rights under the contract.

7.3 – The Hostel will not be liable to the Customer for any failure to perform or delaying in performing its obligations where such failure or delay is due to an event outside the Hostel ́s control (including without limitation, extreme adverse weather, industrial action, natural disaster or force majeure). If such an event prevents the Hostel from fulfilling the booking, either party may cancel the contract.

7.4 – The Hostel may, from time to time, change these conditions without notice. However, the version of these conditions in force at the time of the booking will continue to apply to the contract. Customers are advised to check the Hostel website for the latest version of these conditions before making a booking.

7.5 – The Hostel complies with its obligations under Ley Orgánica 15/1999, December 13th. (“the Act”) in relation to data protection. The Hostel will process personal data (as defined in the Act) in relation to customers and guests solely for the purpose of performing its obligations and exercising its rights in connection with the contract. The Hostel will not provide any such personal data to any third parties apart from third parties who provide services to the Hostel such as the provision of legal advice.

7.6 – These Contract (including any non-contractual matters and obligations arising therefrom or associated therewith) shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Spain.

7.7 – No person who is not a party to the contract will have any rights in connection with it.
